Framing
The final appearance of any wall lining is dependent on the alignment and level of the timber or metal framework. Time spent in planning and erecting the framework will make the fixing of the Agriflex panels easier and affect its appearance.

Vertical studs should be erected at maximum 400mm centres along the partition with due consideration of stud width at sheet joints and the numbers of studs at corners/abutments/trimming o openings etc. Horizontal noggins must be inserted at all horizontal panel joints, top and bottom of each panel and around openings etc. Horizontal noggins must be inserted at all panel joints, top and bottom of each panel and around openings so that each panel is fully supported at all four edges.

Fixing
Fixing are placed at a maximum 300mm centres along each stud.
When used as a ceiling lining, supporting the insulant or other roofing material, the same framework and fixing centres will apply unless there is significant dead weight to be carried (greater than 15kg/m2). In no instance should Agriflex withstand, directly or indirectly, the full effects of wind pressures acting on the structure.

Panel Joints
The final use and purpose of the Agriflex panel should be reflected in the panel joint detail. A relatively “dry” application can employ smaller joints or timber/Agriflex cover strips. Conversely a “wet” or frequently washed Agriflex application would require a more effective or sealed panel jointing. Panel joints may be either covered with cover strips (Timber/strips of Agriflex) or by use of proprietary plastic extrusions. Extremely neat joints can be achieved with good sheet cutting/trimming accuracy.

Cutting
Suitable circular saws, with appropriate blades cane be employed ensuring that there is either dust extraction equipment or sawing is carried out in a well-ventilated area. Hacksaws are convenient for small notches, trimmings or openings. Although the dust produced is considered a “nuisance” prolonged exposure may cause respiratory difficulties or skin allergies.

Site Work and Handling
Arigflex should be handled and stored with reasonable care on site.

The sheets should be stored away from the direct influence of the weather on a smooth, level ground or oversized, robust pallet under cover and away from roadways, paths and direct foot traffic.

Temperary stacking on timber beareres spaced at 400mm centres should be no more than 900mm high.
